Video Conferencing (VC) Guidelines & Court Protocol
Essential instructions, participant decorum, and identity rules for remote appearances before the Hon'ble Court.
Mandatory Zoom Screen Name Format
The Court Master verifies participants against the daily Cause List. Your Zoom display name must be set in the following format before joining:
Advocates: Item [No] - Adv. [Full Name] (e.g. Item 14 - Adv. R. Jamir)
Litigants: Item [No] - [Full Name] (e.g. Item 08 - T. Ao)
Participants with hardware default names (e.g. "iPhone", "Samsung", "User") will remain in the Waiting Room and will NOT be admitted.
1. Joining & Waiting Room
- Connect Early: Join the virtual waiting room 10 to 15 minutes prior to the Court sitting time (10:15 AM).
- Microphone on Mute: Keep your microphone MUTED upon entering. Unmute only when your matter is called by the Court Master or the Hon'ble Judge.
- Camera On: Keep your video camera switched ON and remain facing the camera during the hearing of your matter.
2. Dress Code & Decorum
- Learned Advocates: Prescribed formal court dress (white shirt, black coat, advocate neck bands/tie, and gown as applicable).
- Litigants / Public: Sober, formal, and modest attire. Round-neck T-shirts, shorts, caps, and sunglasses are strictly prohibited.
- Courtroom Decorum: Appear from a quiet, private room. Strictly no eating, smoking, chewing pan/gutkha, or attending from moving vehicles.
3. Application & 5:00 PM Expiry
- Application Cut-off: Submit your VC request through this portal by 04:30 PM of the preceding court working day.
- Validity Concludes at 5:00 PM: Authorized VC meeting links remain active throughout the court day and automatically expire and disappear after 5:00 PM IST on the scheduled hearing date.
- Confidentiality: Meeting credentials are non-transferable. Do not forward or post VC links to public forums or social media.
4. Zero Tolerance on Recording
- Absolute Prohibition: Audio-recording, video-recording, screen-grabbing, or live-streaming court proceedings is strictly forbidden.
- Contempt of Court: Any unauthorized recording constitutes an offence under the Contempt of Courts Act, 1971 and the Information Technology Act, 2000.
- Penal Action: Violations will result in immediate criminal prosecution, confiscation of devices, and disciplinary action.
How to Request & Join a VC Hearing

Note your listed Court Bench and Item Number.
Step 2
Submit Request
Apply via this portal before 10:00 AM (prior working day).
Step 3
Court Approval
Court Master / Admin reviews and accepts your request.
Step 4
Join with Screen Name
Click join from dashboard with your Item No. & Name.
